Materials Testing for Constitutive relations
نویسندگان
چکیده
High suain rate tests have been carried out at both room temperature and 100°C on a Ti6A14V alloy using the torsional split Hopkinson pressure bar. An infrared radiometer has been developed to measure the surface temperature of the specimen during the high speed torsional test. Data have been obtained on the variation of stress with strain and strain rate at shear strain rates from 0.0007s" to 1000s" and on the adiabatic temperature rise during deformation at the higher rates. This data has then been used to determine suitable values for the material constants in a constitutive relauon of the form proposed by Zrrilli-Armstrong for bcc materials for application to the hcp titanium alloy used in the present investigation. Generalized Fractional Derivative Anisotropic Viscoelastic Characterization
Isotropic linear and nonlinear fractional derivative constitutive relations are formulated and examined in terms of many parameter generalized Kelvin models and are analytically extended to cover general anisotropic homogeneous or non-homogeneous as well as functionally graded viscoelastic material behavior. متن کاملObjectivity of Incremental Constitutive Relations over Finite Time Steps in Computational Finite Deformation Analyses
Computational techniques, which preserve the objectivity of incremental constitutive relations, for finite elastic or inelastic materials, for finite time steps, during which the material elements may undergo finite rotations, are presented. These techniques are useful in finite deformation (finite rotations and finite strain) computational analysis of two as well as three dimensional solids an...
متن کاملConstitutive Relations of Dense Granulates with Friction and Adhesion from Dem
Granular materials in a split-bottom ring shear cell geometry show wide shear bands under slow, quasi-static deformation. From discrete element simulations (DEM), continuum fields like the deformation gradient and stress can be computed with the goal to formulate objective constitutive relations for the flow behavior. From a single simulation only, by applying timeand (local) space-averaging, y...
متن کاملImplicit Constitutive Relations
Classical Constitutive equations like the Navier-Stokes model for fluids and the linearized elastic model for solids are explicit models in that they provide explicit expressions for the stress in terms of kinematical quantities. Similarly, the constitutive equation for a Simple Material is also an explicit equation for the stress in terms of the histories of the deformation gradient and the de...
متن کاملCombined Numerical and Analytic Approach for Generalized Models of Complex Bi-Anisotropic Materials
A combined numerical and analytic approach is presented to obtain a general matrix form of constitutive relations for a bi-anisotropic material which consists of arbitrary inclusions in a host medium. This approach is based on the quasi-static Lorentz-Lorenz theory which relates the constitutive parameters of the material with the electric and magnetic dipole moments of the inclusions which can...
متن کاملElectromagnetic Characterization of Chiral Media
During recent decades, a great variety of novel and complex materials have been designed with promising practical applications. It has been found, however, that in many cases the relations between electric and magnetic fields cannot be described by standard constitutive equations. Among these new materials we may mention, for example, chiral, nonreciprocal, gyrotropic and negative refractive in...
